Full Featured Advertising Software

Ad Eagle Suite comes with a full Browser Based installation Program! The only thing you need to know is your system path (and the install program normally gets this right anyway). Here are step by step installation instructions:

1) Unzip the package maintaining directory structure. In the first directory (AdEagle_SuiteVERSION.zip where version is the actual version number you are installing) you will find some readme files, and other information you will want to read, including the JavaScript we recommend using for non-SSI ads.

Here you will also find another directory called "ad-eagle". 

2) Upload the ad-eagle directory to your server in ASCII mode.

3) Change the permissions on the ad-eagle directory to be world writable (chmod 0777)

4) Change the permissions on the file "install.cgi" to 0755.

5) Call the install.cgi script from your browser like so:
http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/cgi-bin/ad-eagle/install.cgi

If the install script does not run, check the path to perl ( the first line of the script) and make sure it is the correct location of Perl on your server. If it is, and the script still will not run, change the permissions on the ad-eagle directory to 755 and try again. 

6) When you call install.cgi you will be asked to enter your registration key. This was provided in the email sent to you when you ordered. Without this, you will not be able to install the program. 

7) Follow the instructions presented to you, and a few clicks later you will have a fully operational system. Log in to the administration area and start setting up!

If you have problems with the installation script, please contact support and we will assist you. The script has been tested on BSDI, FreeBSD, Linux, Cobalt, Windows NT 4.0, Win XP and Win 2000 machines, but we cannot guarantee that it will run on any given machine. If it will not run on your server let us know.
